NAKED SUSHI

A cultural hit in the East comes to the United States for $1000 a plate!

It's Naked Sushi. Where lovely models get naked and large Tea and Banana Leaves spread over them and then decorated with all sorts of sushi. The model is the table spread (no pun intended) as well as the serving tray. No sushi ever touches the actual skin of the model and all models are tested for any kind of virus or disease.

If you are in Minneapolis or Los Angeles look up Naked Sushi events and bring your wallets!

Black Friday is here again

Well Black Friday is here again and the highways and by-ways are alive with angry people who really do not want to shop but feel compelled to do so on this one day. I for one love black friday, especially to window shop, which really pisses off the employees that have been up since 4am!

Wednesday night my cousin and I went to Kildares for the Annual Gobble Off and had a really good time drinking and drinking!

Great Cheesesteaks

Chink's Steaks is for me one of if not the best cheesesteak money can buy. Also the funniest name for a restaurant in NE Philadelphia. See for yourself and try and prove me wrong! Chink's is located on the corner of Toresdale Ave & Benner St.

Craziest Tattooed People

HAPPY  40th BIRTHDAY SEAN (MALT-MAN) NULL

HERE IS SOME OF THE CRAZIEST TATTOOS I HAVE SEEN IN AWHILE.

This one is for Sean

This is dedicated to my Home-brewing Homie, Sean at Wissinoming Brewing Co.

Sean is mastering the craft of balancing the malt to hop ratios in his new Smoked Porter while also trying to figure out what the hell happened to the yeast production of our last batch? I figured I needed to help with his over all stress levels by dedicating this little spot to him and his brew.

We are also awaiting our new supplies from Oregon and our friends at Rogue to begin our next Ale. It will be in dedication to the Pacific Northwest that is for certain.

You Rogue!

What a fitting statement from such a great character as Darryl Hammond playing Sean Connery. It is fitting because it is a statement from one of our country's great craft beer breweries, ROGUE! There is nothing quite like the taste of a Rogue Ale. For those of you who like the taste of Samuel Adams Boston Lager will definitely become a Rogue convert. Not taking anything away from Sam Adams and their line of craft beers, Rogue seems to have the right balance of flavors in all of their lines of beer, especially if you are pairing beer with food. For me, I like a great bar bq anytime of the year and I especially love bar bq'd pork and seafood. If you are like me, and love pairing beer with your meals, I would say for bar bq pork and seafood I would go directly for either a Rogue Dead Guy Ale or Double Dead Guy. The complexity of this beer and the great balance between the malt and hop profile makes this beer easy to drink and when drinking with pork or seafood, just pulls all the wonderful flavors from the meat without taking anything away from the meal itself.

Trust me when I tell you that this beer will become a bench mark for you after you try just one! Sean Connery called out Alex Trebek on Jeopardy; "Ahh Trebek, You Rogue!" Are you a Rogue like Trebek?

Killington Vermont Ski Trip

Today, I have begun to research options for a get away trip to Killington, Vermont. In 2000, I went to Killington for the first time for a high school ski club trip. We stayed at this amazing place called the Cortina Inn. 8 years later I am trying to get back to this place which gave me so many good memories and stories.

The story I like the best was our first day at Mt. Killington. The temperature at the summit was 20 degrees below zero and the wind was to pick up during the afternoon hours. As I was snowboarding in the terrai
n park, EJ Cockraine wanted to do the back country free ride course on the other side of the mountain. We got to the top and be began following the red and yellow markers through the trees. We got split up but we both knew we had to be at the bus by 5pm. It was now around 2pm and I was still continuing on the trail that led out into the long green trail the leads down the main slopes. As I make my way down I notice that there is hardly an
yone on the trails and the lifts stopped working. The temperature dropped steadily and it began to snow at a decent pace. As I continued down I noticed I was passing Chalets and also noticed the ski patrol setting up the snow guns to put more pow-pow down as the afternoon went on. All of a sudden I realize that its almost 4pm and I have really no idea where I am or for that matter how far away from the bus pickup. I unclip from my board and begin to look around for any sign of life. As I walked around I noticed large animal tracks and then blood. Like an idiot I followed the blood to a half eaten deer carcass. Now I begin to panic! I wanted to dump some built up heat so I unzipped my jacket and vest and when I went to move my oakley sunglass to the other side of my jacket, they cracked from the cold to heat exchange and I thought I broke a rib. Five minutes later the ski patrol found me and wanted to know how the hell I got over here to this side of the mountain since all the lift were down due to the wind. I told them what had happened and they put me on a snowmobile and took me all the way across to the other side of the mountain where my teachers and classmates were waiting worried that I got injured on the back country trail since EJ made it back and I did not.
The best part about this place is the rooms with the hot tubs! You literally w
alk from your bed onto your deck and into your hot tub which over looks into the mountains. The other great thing about this place in the winter is that they do sleigh rides right from the Inn right into town and back.

I feel that January will be a pretty good month, and the snow began falling early so it looks to be shaping up to be a great ski season.

Mmm..Tasty! Now this is better than Quiznos

"By the Power oF Grey Skull!" This is why Vagina will always beat Paper, Rock, or Scissors hands down!

I bow down to its power and all that's holy!

I think that this sums up all that could be said!

Portishead and Philadelphia Brewing Co.

There is something about a good IPA on a cold winters night in Philadelphia that makes one think about not going out to the movies but pirate them! Tonight I watched a Porno with Carey (my esteemed other half) and it was pretty enjoyable. (Got your attention now) The Porno was a in essence a porno but it was Zack and Miri ... and I must say it was pretty good. There was only one thing that sucked, and that was that the site got shut down when the movie was 3/4 finished. The up shot was that I was just getting turned on.. (hahah.ohhhooo.heehahh ho.)

Anyway, also drinking about 4 decent (not great) New Bold IPA's is that you begin to think about what the hell you have been doing for the past few months. During this time I have been trying to find a career, find a meaning to my existence that does not include being an extremely intelligent and under appreciated burger flipper at Sonic (great food though).
I have worked as an educator/administrator for the Philadelphia Charter Schools for two years and have been out of a job since September because of new state legislation regarding para-professionals in charter schools. During these past few months I have applied to more than 75 jobs and have either been rejected because of not enough experience or being over qualified for being a college graduate. After thinking long and hard while examining my strengths and what I see as a rewarding profession, I have decided to enroll into the Philadelphia Police Academy for 2009. After weighing in all the pros and cons this seems to fit best for me. The plus side is now when I want to play cops and robbers with Carey it will be a bit more real!

The other good thing about lounging in the apartment during a wintery night whilst drinking IPA's with Carey, is that when you listen to Portishead especially, is that the music becomes even more amazing. Videogames, IPA, and Portishead = a GREAT TIME!
